Fused Bi conical Taper (FBT) optical splicers is where the optical splitting of the signal is achieved by fusing two fibers into one or four fibers into one under high temperatures. A very precise and high tech production will allow the splitting of the signal to be equal ratios (50%-50% or 25% x 4 etc) or uneven so it could be 30%-70% and so on. FBT splicers with a high split ratio can work only within the frequency bands of 1310±40 nm, 1490±10 nm, and 1550±40 nm. The insertion loss of other frequency bands is too high.

* Fiber Optic FBT splitter is a type of optical power management device that is fabricated using Fused Biconical Tape technology·
* It futures small size, high reliability, cheap cost and good channel-to-channel uniformity, and is widely used in PON networks to realize optical signal power splitting.
* Rolball provides whole series of lxN and 2xN splitter products that are tailored for specific applications. All products meet GR- 1209-CORE and GR-1221-CORE
* Rollball offers both tree and star type inline couplers/splitters with Rack mount box.
* They provide a reliable solution to split/combine signals. The splitting ratio ranges from Ix2 to 1×32 ports for tree couplers, and from 2×2 up to 2×32 for star couplers. Available in single, dual, and tripple wavelength windows (13l0/1490/1550nm).
